There is no place I’d rather be
Than here with You, my Lord
For in my heart there is a longing
To love and serve You more.
All that I have I lay at Your feet
To serve You is my greatest joy
I will always love You
Worship and adore You
I will always love you Lord
Give You every part of me
All I am, ever hope to be

"I Will Always Love You"
One of the ways I have maintained an intimate relationship with the Lord has been through setting aside time and shutting away with Him. It's something that started in my late teens and has become a discipline in my life. It was during one of those times that this song was birthed. I remember it very clearly because it was a very challenging time in my life. I was out of work and very much in need of a miracle to take care of my wife and five small children. I remember saying to myself, "You don't have time to pull away and spend time with the Lord, the best thing you can do right now is get our there and find a job!"
I decided to spend the time with the Lord! We stayed in a house that had a finished attic. I went up there and spent three days in solitude. I took my bible, my keyboard and some water. As I settled in that first night, I spent some time singing to the Lord. It was during that time that I began to sing the words "There is no place I'd rather be than here with you my Lord...". The rest of the song just flowed out effortlessly!
When I came out of that three days of spending time in His Presence, I was refreshed, refocused and ready to face whatever was ahead. I had a sense of renewed commitment and confidence that the same God that had taken care of me and my family would do no less in the days ahead. I was right! He began to open doors for me and provided for us in ways I could not have imagined. He remains faithful and the cry of heart remains...
"All that I have I lay at your feet,
to serve You is my greatest joy!
I will always love You,
worship and adore You,
I will always love You Lord!"
